I've never been a big fan of timba, the Cuban dance music that incorporates funk and hip hop. My style is more old-school salsa. But I must admit the local timba group Tiempo Libre (above) does sound hot on this video. And tonight, the Grammy-nominated Tiempo Libre promises to sizzle at the premiere of "Miami Libre," a new musical that opens at the Adrienne Arsht Center . The play, which runs through Aug. 17, tells the story of a young musician's search for love and liberty as the audience sits in a cabaret-style theater. At the end, everyone is invited to dance with the band and the cast on stage. My kind of theater experience. Click on Arsht Center for ticket information.
