Three times Grammy nominated Cuban music group Tiempo Libre comes back with their new release My Secret Radio. The album title and the song “Mi Antena” refers to the teenage years back in Havana of the members of Tiempo Libre, when they secretly listened to music from the United States.

Most of the music has that distinct, clean Miami/Cuban sound reminiscent of the records produced by Emilio Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine. That Miami sound is more evident in the first two tracks “Lo mio primero”, and “San Antonio”, songs dedicated to the cities of Miami and San Antonio.

The music on My Secret Radio is accessible to any ear and blends Afro-Cuban rhythms, “La Gente”, with Latin jazz, “Aceite”, the only instrumental piece and one of the highlights of the album, with excellent piano and timbales solos. There is even some hip hop, on the track “Prende la radio”.

The album also includes two special guests appearances, cuban singer Albita on the track “Como hace años” and Rachelle Fleming on “After the love is gone”.
