Fans of summer fun and summer music will be back at Turner Park.

Jazz on the Green, the annual jazz series, is here for its 27th year and its second at the new Midtown Crossing venue.
As usual, crowds will gather for fun times, good weather and good music starting July 7. Six bands will be featured through Aug. 11.

Tiempo Libre — July 7 at 7 p.m.

The three-time Grammy-nominated band will spice up the opening night of Jazz on the Green next week.

The hot young Latin band plays music from its native Cuba mixed with sounds from America. Tiempo Libre plays its own style of timba music, a Cuban style of salsa music and Latin jazz.

The band’s latest album, “My Secret Radio,” was released in May and pays homage to when the band members were teenagers and fashioned homemade antennas to listen to Miami radio stations that the Cuban government had outlawed.

The band formed a decade ago as the first all-Cuban timba group in the U.S. and has performed on “The Tonight Show” and most recently on “Dancing With The Stars.”
